True Chiropractic is finding the most restricted joint in your body and using technique to get the joint back to normal motion.

When the body has a locked up joint, the force has to go somewhere. That is the joint gets you hurt, though it might not always be the area of pain! Most people don’t even feel it, and others ignore it and hope it goes away. Our patients know better, which is why they receive support and strength for the over used, inflamed painful joint.

With proper a proper chiropractic adjustment, balance is restored to your spine and the entire skeleton.

We categorize our care into 3 types: Pain care, Bio Mechanic, and Wellness. Our patients get all 3, but we can guarantee the pain doesn’t keep coming back, year after year, decade after decade if our treatment plan is followed 100%.

Most people go in, get a few adjustments, get under treated, and are disappointed at the results. At our office, our patients are not forced to sign up for any plans, just educated to make that decision for themselves.

The 3 types of visits

  • Biomechanical visit involves orthodics, pillows, sleeping wrong, etc
  • Pain visits are accident related, usually includes 3-4 areas of injury.
  • Wellness visits are regular checkups / maintenance.

When patients have inexplicable aches and pains in their bodies, they often ignore them thinking they’ve just been working harder than usual, or they chalk them up to getting older. However, instead of ignoring the pain, they should visit a chiropractor’s office to receive chiropractic treatments that can relieve their pain and resolve their aches.

Resolving Pain in the Body

Chiropractors, like those at Just for the Health of It in Vancouver, WA, can help relieve aches and pains with adjustments that resolve subluxations. Subluxations are dislocations of the spine or joints in the body. When there is a dislocation or subluxation of the spine, it can impede nerves, cause headaches, as well as other aches and pains of the body.

When you go to see a chiropractor, they take x-rays to find the subluxations that can cause problems with your body. Subluxations can happen to anyone no matter their age and what shape their bodies are in. Young children, athletes, and older people can suffer from dislocations after falling, being in an auto accident, or if they have conditions like arthritis.

Pet Chiropractic Problems

Along with treating humans, our chiropractors, Dr. Cara Olsen and Dr. Haley Surface, also treat our best friends, our pets, in Vancouver, WA. If you have a pet, like a dog or a cat, which is slowing down due to arthritis as they get older, a visit to a chiropractor may help reduce their pain and help them be more active.

Adjustments help to improve blood circulation to the joints in their body, supplying them with blood, oxygen, and food. Also, moving these joints during adjustments can stimulate the joints to be healthier and help your best friend to move about freely because they have less pain.

Chiropractic FAQs

Real answers — not the generic ones. Call us at (360) 241-6630.

Does chiropractic care actually work?
Yes — and the research backs it up. Chiropractic is one of the most evidence-supported treatments for musculoskeletal pain, particularly back pain, neck pain, and headaches. Multiple clinical studies show chiropractic adjustments reduce pain, restore mobility, and in many cases outperform medication and surgery for non-emergency spine conditions. At Just For The Health Of It, Dr. Cara and her team combine chiropractic with functional medicine and rehab to address the root cause, not just the symptoms.
How many sessions will I need?
The honest answer most clinics give is 6 to 12 for acute issues and more for chronic. That is technically true but useless without context. What actually determines your care plan is what we find when we examine you — the type of injury, how long it has been there, how your body responds to initial treatment, and what else is going on systemically. Unlike clinics that hand you a pre-packaged plan before they have even looked at you, Dr. Cara builds yours around your actual case. We will give you a real answer after your first visit.
Does insurance cover chiropractic?
Most major insurance plans cover chiropractic care, including Medicare, Medicaid, and the majority of PPO and HMO plans. Coverage varies by plan, so we recommend calling your insurance to verify your chiropractic benefits before your first visit. Our team is also happy to help verify coverage for you.
Is chiropractic adjustment safe?
In the right hands, yes — it is one of the safest forms of healthcare available. But like any skilled discipline, outcome depends heavily on the practitioner. Chiropractic is closer to a sport than a procedure: technique, experience, and clinical judgment matter enormously. Dr. Cara and her team bring years of hands-on training to every adjustment. Serious complications from a skilled chiropractor are exceptionally rare — far rarer than the risks of long-term pain medication or unnecessary surgery.
What does a chiropractic adjustment feel like?
Most patients describe it as a relief — a release of pressure they did not realize they were holding. You may hear a popping sound, which is simply gas releasing from the joint. It is not painful. Many patients feel lighter and more mobile immediately after their first adjustment.
Will I have to keep coming forever?
No — your initial care plan has a clear beginning, middle, and end. That said, most of our patients choose to continue with regular wellness adjustments long after their pain is gone. Not because they have to — because regular chiropractic makes them feel that good. Many of our longest-term patients are the healthiest people we know.
Do I need a referral to see a chiropractor?
No referral needed. You can call and book directly. Washington State allows direct access to chiropractic care without a physician referral.
How quickly will I feel results?
Many patients feel significant improvement within the first 1 to 3 visits. The speed of results depends on the nature and age of the injury. Acute pain from a recent incident often responds fastest. Chronic, long-standing conditions take longer but can still see meaningful improvement early in the care plan.
